Paper heart making

valentines7As usual, Valentine´s Day is coming in the middle of the February. It seems, the most popular is this day among the children and teens. Of course, it is best age to talk about friends and friendship and make little gift for someone special.

Because my motto is “Pat the environment”, I use lot of recyclable materials and save the money. Today we make the paper hearts. We can use color paper, some red sheets of magazines, color paper yourself etc. And who is said a heart must be red? Let your fantasy fly.
Paper harts may gift one by one or glue in the greeting card or make the chain and use it for decoration. As well as you can tag the heart on stick.
Slip cutting is executable everyone who can use the scissors. Easy hearts making is suitable kids over 4 and chain making for kids over 6. Help if necessary.

 
You will need: valentines1
– Red paper (even flimsy sheet of felt is very good)
– Scissors
– Stapler

 

Instructions
Chain making
– Cut the paper into stripes sized around 0.5 inches.
– Fold the stripes half-and-half

– Take 2 stripes. Put two strips into one another.
– Fold the ends of the middle stripe in the center as shown in the picture.

– Staple together as shown in the picture. You have a heart.

– Fold the open edges back on itself as shown in the picture.
– You then need to add another two strips of paper to the bottom of the heart and staple together.

– Carry on this process for as long as you want your paper chain to be.

Making one heart take just one stripe, fold the ends in the middle or back on itself and staple.

For fourfold heart take 4 different length stripes. Fold half-and half. Take as shortest is in the middle and longest outside.
Fold edges in the middle starting in the middle.
Staple together.
